(I look scary in this picture but hey, my sweater matches my blog header.:))
I am 29 years old (soon to be the big 3-0) and married to my High School sweetheart-it will be 9 years next summer! My hubby and I have three beautiful children-two boys and a girl.
I am a homeschooling Mama. Our oldest, Noah, is in First Grade, our middle kiddo Josh is in Kindergarten this year (2011/2012). We're using Bob Jones Distance Learning with Noah and Sonlight with Josh. Our 3-year-old baby of the family Aliya isn't doing school yet this year (or I should say a set curriculum) but is bound to keep our school day interesting. I'm so thankful and feel very blessed to be able to stay at home with my babies.
God moved us from NY (where we lived all our lives) to Texas four years ago for my husbands job. It was a transition to say the least. We lived there for four years but are now back home in NY. I came up with the name "Yankee Mama" for this blog because I was so homesick for my family, friends and the great state of NY. As cheesy as it may sound we bloomed where God had planted us. We found a wonderful church family and made lifelong friends. I will forever miss them AND the best Mexican food and BBQ in the USA BUT I will never miss that dang heat.:) Although I may not be saying that come January-April when it will still be snowing here.
I'm half Italian so I LOVE Pasta and Sauce on Sunday afternoons after church! I also love photography, cooking (I’m a recipe collector), shopping and finding great deals, reading, hearing my children laughing together, a good hair day, hawaiian ice, caramel frappuccinos, laughing until my stomach hurts with friends (especially if years have passed since we've seen each other), hot green tea with honey and a splash of milk, the smell of a wood burning stove in the fall, the first snowfall of the season, Bible Study, romantic comedies, Yankee Autumn Wreath candles...Hmmm what else do I love...stick around this blog and I am bound to tell you more if you're interested. My desire is to be a light wherever the Lord leads me and my family.
