The Beast!

**Update: Never did get in that last workout i'm exhausted!!**

Today we purchased our very first piece of fitness equipment, the PaceMaster Silver XT!! (we got it for an amazing price! Such a blessing!)

I named him beast!

Check this guy out!

(Yes those are my sneakers on there. You didn't think I would take a picture on there did you?!)

It was a tight squeeze getting him into our bedroom! The beast got a little scratched.

It's pretty sweet, has a heart rate monitor on the hand grips, 2 water bottle holders an iPod holder and so on.

And no we didn't not pay anywhere near that asking price even though it is brand new.

Jeremiah (my handsome hubby) and me have been talking about getting one for years now.

Elliptical machines are a great choice for many reasons.

In our almost 6 years of marriage we have haven't had the kind of lifestyle that would enable us to go to a gym.

One car, 3 babies and the biggest factor of them all my husband Jeremiah was in chiropractic college for the first 3 1/2 years of our marriage which was about 24 hours of schooling, honestly.

Then he immediately started his own practice after graduation which has grown and expanded greatly in just two years. That takes mucho time.

All that to say, with all of the many long hours, early mornings and late nights it did not and does does not give us the opportunity for a gym membership.

Having a machine at home is the perfect solution for us.

I am so excited to get into shape. I have been feeling so unhealthy.

And weigh the most I have weighed in my entire life.

My concern isn't so much how much I weigh but rather the condition that my cardiovascular system is in and my body mass index. Even though of course being 110 would be wonderful!:P

I wouldn't mind weighing what I do now if I knew I was in shape, toned and it was more muscle than fat.

Oh, and did I mention that i'm in my brother in-laws wedding in July? Yeah!

And that I have had three children in 4 years. Mamas tummy muscles are weak(er)!

And girlfriend likes to eat! I am Italian for goodness sakes! There will be no dieting or starving going on here.

I will try to cut down on carbs and sugar.

Anywho, i'm making my hubby take before and after pictures of me to help keep me motivated! And no I will not post them! I'll spare you! LOL!

My goal isn't really to loose weight but to tone up. And feel healthy.

I decided to do my first workout tonight!

I read you are supposed to do the exercises every other day for 30 minutes, eventually getting up to 5 days a week for 45 minutes. That is for the average person.

Well my friends I got on it at 10:20pm and was off by 10:40pm!:)

Am I out of shape or what!?!?

I will do it again tomorrow morning and push for 30 minutes!

I'll let you know how it goes.

To encourage you: I work out for about 45 minutes, and when I work out on the bigger machines I can't do that long. They are MUCH harder! My Mom has been working out since she was 13 and she says the same thing! SO don't feel bad! You know I think that you look GREAT but I'm happy for you that you'll be able to tone up whatever you see that the rest of us don't ;).

That's great that you have a new eliptical machine and you are so motivated! Gary and I bought an eliptical machine when I was pregnant with Grant. I'm not sure why we did that because I couldn't use it at the time. (It is a refurbished machine from a ladies gym.) And then I got pregnant with Reagan almost right away so it collected dust for several years! Now that the kids are older and I have a bit more time, I can't seem to get into a routine/schedule. You'd think I would be able to with my husband being home. My muffin top is not impressing me! Ugh. I realize the only way to get rid of it is to work it off...I'm not 20 anymore. It's not just going to fall off if I change my diet a little! Good luck with the beast!
